ITALY: Top 10 Places YOU CAN’T MISS!

Now I’ve been to Italy several times in the last few years, it’s an amazing country with tons to offer. Everyone has heard of Rome, Venice, and Florence (which are all amazing), but with all the beautiful places in Italy it’s hard to keep the list so short. Soo.. here are my Top 10 Places in Italy you CANNOT MISS when you go travel there.

  1. Rome – This is a must-do and probably doesn’t even need explaining. There aren’t many places in the world with such a storied history as you’ll find here.
  2. Turin – Tucked in the north of Italy, known for its cuisine, and bordered by the beautiful Alps mountain range. What more could you want?
  3. Verona – It must be special if Shakespeare set 3 of his plays in this city, including Romeo and Juliet.
  4. Venice – The “Floating City” is so unique and special that it’s also a must-do. Hop on a gondola ride for the full experience.
  5. Tuscany – Full of gorgeous villages, vineyards, rolling hills. If you’re a wine lover, you’ll be spoiled with some of the best wines in the world.
  6. Cinque Terre – A string of 5 colourful villages on the rugged cliffside of the Italian Riviera. It’s such a charming, picturesque place. I absolutely love it!
  7. Florence – The capital of Tuscany and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. This is a dream for any art lover, with so many museums and masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture.
  8. Vatican City – Technically not a part of Italy as it is it’s own country, but there is so much to see here. It’s another treasure trove of amazing architecture, paintings, sculptures, and masterpieces such as the sistine chapel.
  9. Pompeii – In the year 79 AD Mount Vesuvius erupted and covered this city under meters of ash. This caused a unique preservation the of the city and its people, creating a snapshot of ancient Roman life at the moment it was buried.
  10. Bergamo – This less-touristy city has a medieval atmosphere with its narrow streets and 16th century city walls. Ride the funicular cable car to get between the different parts of the city.

There are so many more amazing things to see and do in these places! So if you are planning a trip to Italy, I always recommend researching and booking your activities beforehand. By purchasing tickets and pre-booking your activities online you can save lots of time and avoid the long lineups.
