Daenerys Targaryen (Khaleesi) Cosplay Costume

I am a huge fantasy buff and I LOVE making costumes. I don’t make them very often and I have no particular skill set that enables me to create them of any specific quality, but I do love stepping out of the box and attempting a challenge. So, since I have gotten myself obsessively hooked on HBO’s Game of Thrones, which is based off of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels, for Halloween I decided to be one of my favorite characters: Daenerys Targaryen.

Khaleesi Daenerys Targaryen costume inspiration.

What do you think? Below is the final product. It took around 4 days to complete, not full days, but minimum 5 hours each day,  and I never ended up using my sewing machine (all hand stitching!).

And of course, being the video blogger I am, this costume wouldn’t be complete without two making-of vlogs. Enjoy!

Hey Nadine!! (see what I did there). Admittedly I did just register 5 minutes ago for the chance to win a postcard. But nonetheless, I’m a huge fan. I’ve been subscribed to both your YouTube channels since you were living with Olga in California, and I was hooked. I also liked you page on facebook. I realize now how stalker-ish that all sounds… I swear I’m not a stalker though.

Anywho, your costume is just amazing. I don’t watch Game of Thrones but from what I can tell by the pictures of the actual character and you, it’s just about spot on. Bravo Nadine :)

I just wanted to say that you’re so creative! I can’t believe that you used a toy sewing machine (And fabric, of course) :O lol
I’m going to be completely honest, I only just signed up a couple minutes ago on your website when I heard about the post card thing. . .. Don’t send me to jail! Anyway I remember when I saw the video about grapples, and I was addicted since <3 :) I also love watching your vlogs. Like most people I started to watch your videos when you first moved in with Olga, and I was kind of sad when you moved out :/
On that somewhat depressing note, Love your videos and please please give me a post card :)

It’s a really good costume, but I think one little improvement could be to have the garments appear dirty, and to give you skin a slight dirty appearance as well. Over all though it’s really great, and fairly accurate
